Serial Device Servers
COM or TTY port.
The NPort is an IP-based solution that makes serial devices
accessible over a network. Any host computer that supports the
TCP/IP protocol can access the NPort's serial ports. You are no
longer restricted by the need for operating system drivers or by
bus slot limitations (such as ISA or PCI).
In addition to providing socket access, the NPort also comes with
Real COM/TTY drivers to provide access to devices from a virtual
NPort device servers enable network access to traditional RS-
232/422/485 devices. A device server is a tiny computer equipped
with a CPU, a real-time OS, and TCP/IP protocols for bi-directional
translation of data between serial and Ethernet formats. With
NPort device servers, you can access, manage, and configure
remote facilities and equipment from anywhere in the world over
the Internet.
